Master of Science in Nursing - Online
Admissions
To be eligible for admission, you must have a bachelor's degree in nursing from a school accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Admission Requirements
- Admission to the University of Arkansas Graduate School.
- Completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
- Current unencumbered licensure to practice as a registered nurse.
- Completion of a basic health assessment course (academic or continuing education).*
- Completion of a basic-level statistics course with a grade of “C” or above.
- Basic computer and library skills including the use of electronic databases.
- Qualified applicants will be admitted on a space available basis.
The admission deadline for Fall is July 15th, Spring is Oct 15th, and Summer is Mar 15th
Students must submit all application materials, including all official transcripts*, no later than July 15th for Fall admission; Oct 15th for Spring admission, and Mar 15th for Summer admission. However, space is limited: therefore, earlier submission is recommended. Applications for admission must be accompanied by a $40 application fee, which is non-refundable and will not apply against the general registration fee if the applicant enrolls. In addition, students must be admitted to the School of Nursing graduate program. Students must submit the School of Nursing Graduate Admission Application online. Following admission to the program: Prior to enrolling in NURS 5102 - Advanced Health Assessment, the student must:
- Complete a background check by Dead Day of the previous semester in which they will enroll in the clinical course.
- Provide EMSON with Hep B, TB, CPR, MMR, Td, Varicella, health insurance by Dead Day of the previous semester in which they will enroll in the clinical course.
- Provide evidence of a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the state where precepted hours will be provided by Dead Day of the previous semester in which they will enroll in the clinical course.
- Complete a drug screen within four weeks prior to the first day of class.
- Provide any other requirements requested by the clinical institution.
