Admissions

To be eligible for admission, you must have a bachelor's degree in nursing from a school accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Admission Requirements

  • Admission to the University of Arkansas Graduate School.
  • Completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing from an NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
  • Current licensure to practice as a registered nurse.
  • Completion of a basic health assessment course (academic or continuing education).*
  • Completion of a basic-level statistics course with a grade of “C” or above.
  • Evidence of current CPR (American Heart Association for Professionals) certification, TB screening, Hepatitis immunization, professional liability insurance, and health insurance.
  • Basic computer and library skills including the use of electronic databases.
  • Qualified applicants will be admitted on a space available basis.

Students must submit all application materials, including all official transcripts*, no later than July 15, 2009. However, space is limited: therefore, earlier submission is recommended. Applications for admission must be accompanied by a $40 application fee, which is non-refundable and will not apply against the general registration fee if the applicant enrolls. In addition, students must be admitted to the School of Nursing graduate program. To be considered for program admission, students must:

  1. Submit a photocopy of current licensure to practice as a registered nurse in the state where precepted hours will be completed.
  2. Submit photocopies of a current CPR (American Heart Association for Professionals) certification, TB screening, Hepatitis immunization, professional liability insurance, and health insurance.
